Stevieland!

Dear Friends, things are looking up for this weekend and beyond and I’m stoked to get back to the gig flow. I’ve been playing it light on the concert front and instead working on the guitar concerto and the good news is it’s almost done. Tomorrow will be Pam on the viola playing parts and later in the week we’re laying down a trumpet solo. Then it’s into mixing and voila, a new project makes it’s way to the streaming services. I’ll let you know when it’s ripe for the picking.

On Saturday evening at the First Presbyterian Church of San Diego we’re celebrating the music of Stevie Wonder featuring Leonard on vocals. We’ve got the whole band spinning sound on Stevie’s classic tunes and I know it’ll be a hoot. Think bebop “Sir Duke,” samba “As,” funky “I Wish,” and Coltrane-ish “All in Love is Fair.” Look below for details…

Peaking around to the beginning of next week we’re gearing up for two nights of jazz at the intimate North Coast Rep Theatre in Solana Beach. It’s happening on Monday and Tuesday nights and it’ll be Leonard, Danny, Mack, and me traveling the vistas of jazz, bop, reggae, bossa nova, The Beatles, and Stevie Wonder. This is a superb environment for music to happen and we hope to see you there!

There it is and see ya’ soon, Peter
