Springsters Unite!
There are flowers and there is green over here at SpragueLand. Add in a little music and it’s time to rejoice!
We’ve been rehearsing Beatles music this week for a big concert at the Conrad Theatre. I’d tell you more about the concert but the news on the street is that it’s sold out. That’s good for us because it’s always nice to have that full house energy flowing.
One of the songs that we’re playing at the concert is our arrangement of the Beatles composition called “I’ve Just Seen a Face.” You know how I like to manipulate the arrangements to fit our jazz sensibilities? Well this one has almost gone too far — potential jazz damage. I’ll let you be the judge.
This video is from a live concert in Del Mar several years back and the tempo was on fire with Rebecca and Leonard leading the way.
We’re playing live tomorrow night (4/25 at 8pm) at the La Jolla Community Center and they have a great space for music. It’ll be Rebecca, me, Danny on piano, and Mack on bass. Super cool music and I’m pretty sure there are still tickets available. Hope to see you there and details below!
In springtime’s bloom, the flowers sing,
Their petals hum, their colors swing
The breeze conducts a soft refrain,
A symphony for the sun and rain.
adios, Peter
