Hi Fine Folks,
Many years ago (the early ’80s) I used to play a solo guitar gig every Sunday brunch at a restaurant in Encinitas called The Shepherd. Health food, hippies, surfers, and SRF devotees were in attendance and they politely went along with my extended improvisations but I know they really lit up when I broke out my version of Earl Klugh’s calypso infused “Jolanta.” It’s beauty in sound personified and anyone that hears it transforms three notches up in the happiness index. It’s a great tune!
This performance is from a livestream concert that we played in September 2024.
Here’s the band:
Peter Sprague — guitar
Danny Green — piano
Justin Grinnell — bass
Duncan Moore — drums
Tripp Sprague — flute
