Greeting Song Folks!
We’ve all heard of revitalization and perhaps gentrification but here’s a new one — the Beatle-ization of SpragueLand.
It all went down last week and for 6 days straight (“Eight Days a Week”) I reworked Beatles songs to fit into our jazz and samba approach. We’ve got a concert next month (April 27th at the Conrad Theatre) and aided by a bevy of fantastic musos we’re filling the airwaves with “All You Need is Love.” There’s a lot more where that came from including these classic Fab Four gems — a Metheny-ish approach to “I’ve Just Seen a Face”, a Miles influenced “Drive My Car”, and a wicked slow version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” sung by Rebecca Jade that’s worth the price of admission alone.
More details coming soon and I’ll let you know…

For live music this week, first up we’re playing music tomorrow night at a new venue right up the street from my house. It’s called Fox Point and they’ve got a supposedly great restaurant and they’re doing music on Tuesday evenings. It’ll be a first for us and anytime we can share the SOUND we’re stoked.
Look for details below…

Also this week we’re playing a concert on Saturday night at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego in the Hillcrest area. It’s a gorgeous spot for music and we’ve got the right blendo of musicians to make the whole equation work out. Fun ahead and hope to see you there.
