100 Percent!

Hiya Folks!

Sorry about the dip into bad health and the cancelled gigs. Covid got the best of me but now El Covid is gone.

Back to one hundred percent!

And with that, some new music…

Today we’re talking about the perfect Jobim foil for styling the sonic wave. It’s the Endless Summer and it’s 1966 in Del Mar and the future is bright. In fact the present is supreme as well. The soundtrack to this good story is Jobim’s “A Felicidade.” It’s perfection in sound just like Cape St. Francis’ rolling beauties. The song form is long, it continues to morph and endless vivid colors greet us at every new turn. Add into the mix — the Brazilian samba groove and there you have it — magic music.

The band:

Peter Sprague — guitar
Allison Adams Tucker — vocals
Danny Green — piano
Tripp Sprague — sax
Beth Ross Buckley — flute
Justin Grinnell — bass
Duncan Moore — drums

Launching out live this week on Friday night we’re playing at Ki’s Restaurant in Cardiff. Always a hoot with Danny on piano and Justin on bass. Look below for the fine print and hope to see you there…

On Saturday afternoon it’s again the three of us making an appearance at the Ramona Library. There’s air conditioning at play plus the focused quietude that only a library can bring. Good times…

That’s the story and thanks for tuning in. Also around the corner into next week we’re playing a show at the SD Botanic Garden with Rebecca Jade on vocals. Gonna be fun!

adios, Peter
