H i Friends, maybe you will see me. Maybe you’ve seen too much of me. I’m hoping it’s just the right amount and it sure has been great seeing all of you. Big fun with lots of gigs — all with different musical angles. “Stirring it up,” so said Bob Marley…
Last week we played Stevie Wonder music at the Mengei Gallery with guest artist Steve Kujala:
And then right from that show we morphed over to the Museum of Making Music and played Carol King music:
And then there was sleep.
Live for this week we’re playing a trio hit tomorrow (4/22/24) at the Senses Human Bistro on Park and Market.
Next we’re driving east on (4/25/24) to play again with the trio at The Merc in Temecula.
Both are fantastic venues where the music is the main deal.
And if you like Brazilian music, especially the songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim (Girl From Ipanema, Desifinado, Triste, etc.) we’re presenting a night of his music on Saturday night at Dizzy’s on Morena Blvd. We’ve got a great group launching off of my arrangements and we’d love to have you in the loop. Look below for the gig details.
Today I just finished editing this video of us playing our version of “You Won’t See Me” — a Beatles classic. I experimented around and found some new chord changes and delivered them on a bossa nova groove. It’s one of my favorites from the Liverpool Four!
In the band:
Peter Sprague — guitar
Allison Adams Tucker — vocals
John Opferkuch — piano
Tripp Sprague — sax
Justin Grinnell — bass
Duncan Moore — drums
and that’s the story for this week.
all best, Peter
