Dear Friends,
This week it’s setting up to be a mini world tour of library music. Aren’t libraries supposed to be quiet havens of elevated thought rather than a home for a trio of jazz musos banging on their instruments?
We’ll find out as we first stir it up at the Carmel Valley Library on Tuesday evening and next at the La Mesa Library on Saturday afternoon.
It’ll be me, Danny, and Mack spinning the sound for an hour and then making our way to the biography section of the library to find a book about how Bach did it correctly. (Avoiding parallel fifths and octaves is one of the foundational “rules” of counterpoint.)
Note to self, just don’t let McCoy Tyner in on this! Hah!

all best, Peter
