The Top Five!

Hi Folks, good times over here and just the other day Danny alerted me that one of our videos we recorded at SpragueLand was gaining a lot of YouTube views. This happened once before for our video of Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al.” It went from zero to 230,000 views in the span of a week and a half. We got Digital Brian to research what was causing it to explode, and he came up with the theory that because Bad Bunny had added it to one of his playlists, this was the reason for the big spike in views.

And back to our latest YouTube news, a video of our version of Dave Grusin’s “Hurricane Country” has racked up almost 3 times the amount of views as “Al” — 652,200 views and counting. It’s a great tune with a killer vibe, and I’m still not sure why some of the songs take off and some don’t. Do you think it’ll go up to 1 million? I clicked my way down the road of analytics for this video, and one of the main things that’s driving it is that it got added to a couple of jazz playlists. Apparently that’s a game changer. Today we’re pretending that we’re on the hit parade.

Here are the top five most viewed videos that we put together over the years, and if you haven’t watched these before, you might get a kick out of what resonates with the masses. Add in a ton of luck too, and that’ll get us all closer to reality.

We are going live this week on Friday night at Ki‘s Restaurant in Cardiff. It’ll be Danny Green on piano, Justin Grinnell on bass, and me on guitar. It’s always a fun night of music and they serve exquisite food. Look below for details and I hope you can make it out…

thanks and all the best, Peter
