Good Morning fellow sleepers,
It’s a new year and it started off right with us going to bed at 8:30pm on New Year’s Eve, which could of been midnight in China. Then waking up fully rested and ready to jump into the next chapter. As I always say, “it’s good to be alive.”
I’ve been working in the studio wrapping up some final mixes for a project of bossa nova beauties from the pen of Antonio Carlos Jobim with my warpage (as I like to do) included. It’s sounding good and I can’t wait to share it with you. I’ll let you know..
Here’s a new vid that is entering the fray this week.
I wrote this song for our Episode 26 livestream show called “Songs of Home.” Me and the gang, going under the name of The Tribute Rebels, each composed a few songs that had to do with our life living at home. My contribution was one of my favorite home devices, my pillow.
The pillow — what a great invention, a gateway to dreams.
There’s nothing I can’t find under there — voices in the trees, the missing pages of the sea, everything but sleep.
I’m a huge fan of Chick Corea and some of my favorite moments of his music are a collection of 20 “Children’s Songs” composed for solo piano. Simple little beauties, short and sweet. My tune has a similar arc.
Here’s the band:
Peter Sprague — guitar
Danny Green — piano
Justin Grinnell — bass
Duncan Moore — drums
Tripp Sprague — flute
We’re launching live this week on Wednesday night at the Cardiff Library. It’s a free show featuring Leonard Patton, Danny Green, Mack Leighton and me. The promoter requested us to play all original music so I’ve got some of my sonic creations all polished up and ready to fly. Come on out for the sounds…
There you go with the story for this week, all best, Peter
