Hi Friends, here’s a quick update letting you know where we’ll be playing this weekend.
On Friday night we’re playing a set at The Jazz Lounge in San Diego. This is Leonard’s club and he’s doing a marathon event that has bands playing all through the day and night, nonstop for 30 hours. They are raising funds for an expansion of the club which would be great. Here’s a link for more info and maybe we’ll see you there for our set.
Next up, on Sunday at 5pm we’re bringing in the whole band to play a live hit at Tio Leo’s in San Diego. I love this spot for music and killer Mexican food. The band is my brother Tripp on sax, Danny Green on piano, Justin Grinnell on bass, Duncan Moore on drums and me on the guitar. Our setlist includes my “Anti AI” tune, a Metheny masterpiece, a few jazzified Beatles songs, Jobim jewels, our angle on Chick’s “Spain,” and an old tune I wrote for the late, great Sonny Rollins titled “Roller Skatin’ with Sonny.”
It’ll be a good moment in San Diego and we hope to see you there…
