Take It Back!

S
alutations of Summer to you all,

It’s a good time and the melodic echoes of Paul Simon are floating in the air over here at SpragueLand.

We are diving back into Paul’s “Spinning in Infinity” this week with a sorry to say SOLD OUT concert at the San Diego Botanical Garden here in Encinitas. But don’t fret if you haven’t got tickets yet because later in the weekend we’ve got something else brewing.

On July 28 we’re playing an outdoor concert at the Leichtag Commons in Encinitas and I’m pretty sure there are still tickets left. What a beautiful setting for music and here again it’s our explorations into the music of Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, James Taylor, and Carole King. The band is stellar, the outdoors will be in full bloom, and the philanthropic angle of the event is for a good cause.

Super fun and look below for details.

Right around the bend, on Monday evening July 29 we’ll play a concert at the Point Loma Westminster Presbyterian Church. It too is a beautiful outdoor setting for music and it’ll be Leonard, Danny, Mack, and I strumming away.

Good times!

I rarely sing on the gig but when the vibe is right I step out and let ‘er rip. Here’s a song by Cream and with Leonard egging me on I end up taking it back. Hah!

Johnny Minchin is playing the harp and on this livestream we ran out of isolated rooms so we’ve got him recording out in the yard at night. It works and it’s a cool backdrop effect.

Here’s the band:

Peter Sprague — guitar
Leonard Patton — vocals
Mack Leighton — bass
Duncan Moore — drums
Tripp Sprague — sax and piano
Johnny Minchin — harmonica

“Take It Back” is also available on our new album project “Sunshine of Your Love.”
