Summer Fun On the 101!

Salutations of summer to my favorite fans of sound,

The coastal grey is still at it but the music is flowing over here at SpragueLand.

It’s been all about Coltrane lately as me and the boys are getting ready to record two songs that didn’t get captured on the recent livestream show. Both vid switcher Steve and I were focused on getting the map app to work at the start of the stream, and we totally forgot to push the record button on both the ProTools audio app and Steve’s vid switcher app. You all got to see and hear the first two songs but we’re missing them on our side.

So a re-tracking sesh is on the calendar and it’s focusing towards a new album on the streaming platforms plus YouTube vid singles.

The new frontier of where music goes once it’s complete.

We ain’t getting rich (did you know that our record company is called SBE Records, and no, that isn’t for Sprague / Benedetti / Enterprises but instead, Striving to Break Even Records) but we’re just following the joyful path of creativity.

Up for this week, on Saturday at 2:20 PM we’re sharing the sound with the good folks of Leucadia at the Summer Fun On the 101 music festival. It all takes place at the ridiculously small postage stamp of a park located at Leucadia Blvd. and the Coast Highway 101.

The vibe is stellar, the lineup is epic, it’s all FREE and you are invited!

It’ll be me, Allison, Danny, Rob Thorsen on bass, and Duncan knocking around the notes highlighting The Beatles, Hoagy Carmichael, Paul Simon, and Carole King.

Turn it up Encinitas!

Today the final Carole King livestream vid single gets released and it’s one of her most recorded songs. James Taylor rode the hit train all the way to the inner vaults of the Federal Reserve and Carole too had a well deserved adventure. It’s a beautiful union of melody, harmony, and lyrics and we’re thrilled to include it in our repertoire.

There you go with the current story and we hope to see you soon, best, Peter
