Friends, it’s looking to be a driving week over here at SpragueLand. Actually a rehearse, gig, drive, drive some more and then sleep week. Rehearse today, drive to L.A. for a private gig tonight, drive back, rehearse tomorrow, Thursday record, Friday drive to L.A. again for the LACCMA concert, Saturday to Idyllwild for an afternoon hit, Sunday a double hitter in SD and RSF, and then that night —sleep!
I love my car! ![]() You know what I’m digging even more than my car these days? Check out Jacob Collier’s latest endeavor —harmonizeU. What he does is he accepts little vid clips of your every person vocalist singing a little ditty. From there he filters this clip through his amazing harmonic mind and adds his vocal harmonies to the original clip. The results are mind blowing with brilliant harmonic choices and execution, charming to the hilt! See and hear for yourself and let me know if it brings as much joy to you as it does to me. This is music and humanity blending in a beautiful and creative way! We’ve got a few public gigs slated for this week and it kicks off with a Friday concert at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. They run a summer jazz series and we’re thrilled to be included. Our angle is: Peter Sprague Group – Jazz Explorations on Rock Classics Peter Sprague — guitar I know, it’s a long drive, especially on a Friday. But be happy ‘cuz the circus is coming to town later in the week! We’re playing the same program on Sunday early evening at a park in Rancho Santa Fe. It’s free, the band will be in good shape after the LA hit, and there’s ample parking for you to leave the world behind. Look below for the details and it’ll be great to start summer with you… ![]() Jazz and rock in Rancho!
