Looks Good On Paper!

Hi Folks, it’s a slightly behind on sleep, Snarky Puppy on the box afternoon and I have a few free moments to catch you up on things. The low on sleep element is because I’m just returning from a tour with the Billy Childs Group and our last few days looked do-able on paper but to live them out in realtime flattens the senses.

I’m equalizing as we talk.

And Snarky Puppy is funk jazz group that I’m loving and they’re playing a part in bringing this day around. Check ‘em out especially this album!

We played in Chi Town, Notre Dame, and last eve at Disney Hall in LA. Good tunes, tricky codas, non-traditional banter and excellent Indian food in Hyde Park. We’ll do a similar run in January, this time in Boston, Vermont, NYC, Detroit, and St. Louis. East coast winter freeze coming up!

I’m gearing up for live music this week and first off is a neat hit tomorrow (Tuesday) night at the Pacific Beach Library. It’ll be just Leonard Patton and I presenting our duo music. We have a lot of curves and twists added including Leonard singing and playing percussion at the same time and I’ll be working my double neck guitar with some magic electronic devices on the floor. Big fun in PB and hope you can make it out!

Mid week it’s a collection of private gigs but leaning into Friday the 13th we’re playing a guitar trio hit at The Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley. I’ve done this gig one time prior and I LOVED IT! Great listeners, parking, good acoustics, freedom to play—all of it coming together just right. For this installment it’ll be Mack on bass and Charlie Weller playing drums joining me on the double neck. Yes!

Chicago was living up to it's name with a good brisk wind and I sought refuge at a Native Foods restaurant that had good central heating. I'm wearing a coat too.

That’s the word for now and thanks for checking in.

all best, Peter
