Jobim Overdose?

G reetings Folks,

You might think we’d be heading towards a Jobim overdose but never will such a thing happen. We played two concerts last week, all Jobim songs, and we’re still standing, fully alert, and fully willing to play another samba. His music bends around the sonic universe and the moment you play a major 6/9 chord on the guitar, the clouds part and hidden truths on life itself reveal themselves. They proclaim, “keep on it son and if you continue you might receive a Spotify royalty payment in the mail for 13 cents, (which accounts for 125 plays at $.000000012 per play).

Ah, the wonderful thing which is the music business…

Here’s a little clip of us playing our swing version of Jobim’s “Triste” at Tio Leo’s last Sunday…

Gearing up for a Thursday night concert with the amazing Leonard Patton on vocals. It’ll be me, Leonard, Danny on piano, and Mack on bass playing at Meraki South Park in San Diego. I’ve never been to this spot but I’m told the sound is good and the vibe is sweet. There’s a high probability that magic might happen. See you there!

That’s the word and thanks for tuning in, best, Peter
