High Quality Beatles Comp!

S alutations of mid-winter days,

We had a wonderful hang at Dizzy’s last weekend with good music, good folks in attendance, a party of 14 that showed up and sliced really clever birthday cake, and four vocalists that instilled their magic into our new songs. So fun!

Leonard had an incredible starting moment where he acted out, by himself, our funny blues tune called “Insist On It.” So great was the moment that we’re going to play it again this Friday night at The Jazz Lounge in San Diego. It’ll be Leonard on vocals, Danny on piano, Mack on bass, Duncan on drums, and me on guitar. The Jazz Lounge is Leonard’s jazz club and you’re all invited. It’ll be my first gig there and I can’t wait.

While we’re talking about Leonard, for this week’s vid release here’s a clip of us playing a super high quality Beatles composition with wild key changes, an iconic intro, and hippy lyrics. What a song! Leonard at the helm ripping it up!

A few things to look out for — Leonard’s singing throughout but on the choruses I’m singing too and this may be a first. Duncan’s playing in front of an outer space backdrop, Tripp’s carving cool lines on the EWI (electronic wind instrument), Mack’s actually playing bass outside of the studio on the patio, (was he cold?), a wonderful Danny piano solo, and on my solo we have some cool moments of total silence followed by a rare sighting of the use of the guitar distortion pedal — wicked in a quasi jazz type of way.

Dig it!

Also up for this week, on Saturday evening we’re playing the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim at the Park and Market venue in downtown San Diego. Good and bad news — people are really responding to this concert, the bad news is that it’s already sold out. Hopefully you’ve already got your tickets and we’ll see you there!

The last gig for the week is a Sunday afternoon hit at the Encinitas Library. It’ll be Danny, Mack, and I sharing our sonic point of view at one of my favorite venues — good sound, good sightlines, good entry fee which is FREE!

See ya’ if you can make it and below are the details…

That’s the word for now, all best, Peter
