Here Now With Motown’s Favorite Son!

Hi Folks, just back from a killer Indian food dinner hang and now I’m on the computer with Stevie Wonder filling the air waves. He’s singing “Superwoman” and it’s GOOD! “Where were you when I needed you last winter?” I’m not sure where I was then but I’m here now and totally digging Stevie’s vibe.

We had a fun show last week at 98 Bottles with Buzz and Tim playing up a storm. Tim sang some Credence and Led Zeppelin and blew our minds. What a voice!

The gig plan for this week starts with a long drive to LA on Friday to join up with vocalist Allison Adams Tucker and the rest of the gang to play a night of great jazz at Vitello’s. Allison has a new recording called April In Paris and we’ll be using that as our touchstone for the music. I know it’ll sound great with the piano magic of Josh Nelson at the helm. Look below for the details and hope to see you there!

I’ll be playing solo at the Roxy on Sunday night which turns out to be Father’s Day and it continues to be one of my favorite places. Great food with the downtown Encinitas ambience in the early parts of summer couldn’t be any better. Mix in live music and it’s a cinched deal. Join in!

If you’re tuning your radio dial on Monday night (6/16/2014) hunt us down at KSDS Jazz 88 at 7:20pm and we’ll be sharing some tales and tunes leading up to our CD release concert at Jazz Live. Kevyn will be in the loop with me and I’m bringing my guitar. Call in and harass us if you please!

There it is and now Stevie’s got “Master Blaster Jammin’” on his mind. Motown’s favorite son getting down!

all best, P
