When Fred Benedetti first heard “When I’m 64” on the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album in 1967 at ten years old, he was already dreaming of being a musician. In fact he had already started playing the guitar the year before (With A Little Help from his father) and in the idyllic setting on the island of Oahu during the “Summer of Love” he played the album over and over and tried to learn the songs. His dad helped him figure out that “When I’m 64” was sort of in “C”, but actually more like “Db” so they put a capo on the 1st fret to learn the song by “ear”. The only chord they really didn’t know from “When I’m 64” was Ab, but they eventually figured out that if he played the A chord back one fret, it sounded kinda good! Fast forward 54 years later, he could have never imagined playing a virtual livestream concert with his two daughters and two long-time musical friends playing some of his favorite tunes to celebrate his 64th birthday. And that’s exactly what will happen 7pm, Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Spragueland Studios. Music mostly by The Beatles, with some Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Mason Williams, & Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in there too. Hope you can join!
