Hear Ye, Hear Ye,
Last Sunday we raided the Encinitas Library, turned up the volume, and unleashed free-wheeled Beatles songs to the ears of free-wheeled citizens. A good time was had by all and I’m so happy to announce that we get to do it again, this time at the Coronado Library on 3/6 at 1pm. Great band, great entry fee (free), and hopefully ample space to house all of you, our loyal listeners. (The Encinitas show was super way over sold out with at least 30 fine folks turned away). We hope to see you there and look for the details below…

Every now and then I like to let my readers know about a project that I’m either part of or about a musician that you might not have heard of who’s flying brilliantly under the radar.
Last year Josh Ottum booked some time at my studio and brought his recent collection songs to record. It was just he and I, working out the details of some really nice compositions. Josh’s music combines many styles — jazz, folk, and pop while his lyrics paint vivid imagery in their own right. Beauty in sound!
Josh and I both grew up in Del Mar and he entered the music scene around 14 years after I did. We went to the same high school but I never met him until recently. Also like me, he’s an ocean devotee.
The two albums that he recorded at my studio are just emerging now on Bandcamp at these locations:
One Note Chord (Josh and Peter)
Objects in Mirror (band album)
We shot video of the session and Jordan Couch, one of Josh’s friends, did an edit on the video that I think is fantastic. You might remember my most recent video called “George, Tell it Like it Is” and how I set the look to black and white and had these long cross fades. Well, I got those ideas from Jordan and I think this video of theirs is really something special.
Josh’s music will be on all of the streaming services in two weeks but you can hear it on March 6 at Bandcamp. I hope you have a chance to check it out.
