Greetings Friends, it’s getting away from me, this day. The dentist sesh this morning expanded outwards as more drilling than originally thought of was required. I love Novocaine! Then a truckload of emails and phone messages stacked up from yesterday as I was in the studio for a long one. I’m working on this online video guitar instruction series (I’m on lesson 20 out of 30). I was talking to the front camera about the intricate details of playing “So Danco Samba” and how to help the 2 dominant chord lift off the page. All fun but the unending stream of communications kept flowing in unmanned and today I’m paying up to the digital data piper to dig out.
So this brings me to now, here, and I’m thinking I’ll give you the streamlined lowdown on the happenings for this week and then I can zip off, catch a few waves, come in, dry off, get my fingers up and moving and then make my way to the private gig I have tonight. Does this plan work for you? ![]() photo by Steve Grant I’m back to the Roxy Restaurant on Thursday night for a solo guitar explorations expression session. That’s a mouthful! And you’ll get both a mouthful and an earful when you join me in beautiful downtown Encinitas. The first set starts at 7pm and I’ll play solo and this morphs into the second set with a few guests sitting in. Big fun! Last up for the week is a Ki’s hit on Friday with vocalist/guitarist Nina Francis and Tripp Sprague on sax joining me for a night of jazz and folk music. Nina has a fantastic sound and writes cool tunes plus she’s into jazz and The Beatles. My kind of gal! Hope to see you there… ![]() I’m leaving town next week for some gigs first with Billy Childs in Austin and then I join up with the Dianne Reeves’ group for some Little Rock plus Salt Lake City music. I’ll miss you all and keep the sky in your head until then. Infinite horizons! adios, Peter |
