| Hi Folks, I’m gearing for the holidays and as I sit in the office getting the word out about this week’s music happenings on comes the iTunes shuffle selection “Happy Days Are Here Again” with a 19 year old Barbra Streisand singing the roof off the tune. Oh my, what a voice! This tune is from a recording called Just For the Record and it’s a sonic stroll through Barbara’s early recordings as a young vocalist growing up in N.Y.C. She had it going on from the very beginning. What a nice way to kick off the holiday chill time…
Coming up for this week, on Friday night Lisa Hightower, Gunnar Biggs, and I will bring the music to Ki’s Restaurant in Cardiff. Our trio cruises through jazz standards, a few Jobim jewels, and a couple of our original compositions with good stories attached. Hope you can join us for a magical night of great food, a killer view of the pacific, and jazz sounds blending into the night.
