Conveyor Belt of Shed!

Aloha Good Folks,

I’m enjoying the idea of a slight lull on the gig-train and it’ll all kick back into action at the end of the month. In the meantime I’m on the conveyor belt of shed, learning six new Jobim arrangements in preparation of an April 26 lift-off — and a moon flyby included.

For this week’s video we’re going tropical.

The idea of playing bossa nova on the beach of Waikiki in the last throes of winter is ringing super true over here in Leucadia. To make that dream come true I started with the pleasant flow of “aloha bossa nova,” and the way it rolls off the tip of my tongue. Next I formed up the rest of this tune that purports the many reasons to play samba at the water’s edge — sound waves, ocean waves, sandy beach, and the rhythmic beat.

The band:

Peter Sprague — guitar
Allison Adams Tucker — vocals
Danny Green — piano
Tripp Sprague —flure
Mack Leighton — bass
Duncan Moore — drums

Good on ‘ya and thanks for checking it out, best, Peter
