Friends! Mister Mozart is filling the house with fluffy little balls of sound bliss. It’s amazing and right now the Andantino section of his Flute and Harp Concerto in C Major has never sounded better with master Rampal at the helm. Loads of gigs, SpragueLand the studio is humming with activity, the surf is sweet, the family and friends are dear. I’m loving it! Good news just in on the Ocean In Your Eyes front! My recording has been nominated along with an esteemed cast of other local jazzers as the best recording for 2014. The CD continues to sell and I’m thrilled with the positive response from friends and fans. The voting for the best album category isn’t open to the public so it’s all in fates hand. You can’t cast your vote, so castaway… Up for this week, we’re playing Ki’s in Cardiff on Friday night with vocalist Lisa Hightower, bassist Gunnar Biggs and me on the guitar. Last month we had the same band and it was a great time so we’re tuning up the instruments, looking over the tunes and we’ll see you for a beautiful sunset mixed in with tasty food and cool music. ![]() photo by Barbara Rix My string consort group is heading out to the Idyllwild Jazz Festival on Sunday to play a set. This is a really fun event with music on multiple stages, great food and booths with all kinds of art, all taking place in the incredible setting of big time trees and greenery that is Idyllwild. It doesn’t get any better than this and we’re honored to be part of it. I’ve arranged a new tune for this gig and I’m thrilled to get to hear for the first time tonight at our rehearsal in L.A. It’s called “India Zach” and I first recorded it on the Mill Creek Road CD with Geoffrey Keezer. It’s a zippy little number and I’m thinking the stringsters will devour it! Come and hear us at Idyllwild if you can! ![]() photo by Rick Sokol Therein are the words of the day emanating from Leucadia. All good things your way, stay cool, Peter |
