Hello Friends,
August was an amazing month for ocean perfection — surf, warm water, warm air and we continue that positive trend over to the music. For this week’s video release we bring you “August” composed by Lyle Mays.
Peter Sprague and Aubrey Johnson Play “August”
On the eve of July 1, 2021 we played a livestream concert with our quartet and our special guest for that night was the wonderful vocalist Aubrey Johnson from New York City. It was a fun show and for me the highlight was Aubrey singing her uncle’s song “August.” Her uncle happens to be the one and only Lyle Mays! We love Lyle and it’s good to know that the family musical gene is passing along beautifully. Lyle wrote this song for his grandfather August Olson.
The band lineup is:
Peter Sprague — guitar
Aubrey Johnson — vocals
John Opferkuch — piano
Gunnar Biggs — bass
Duncan Moore — drums
“August” is on the Guinnevere recording and it’s available at all of the streaming services including:

We are playing live this week on 9/12 at the Westgate Hotel in downtown San Diego. We’re on the roof and they’re serving food and champagne. The good life! We’ve got the whole band lined up and we hope you can join us.
