H ola La Gente!
This has been a week of no gigs and so I did a little remixing and today is the day for a new single song vid.
We were right in the middle of releasing our “Planet Cole Porter” album and on a few of the concerts we needed more music, a longer program. It turns out it’s easy to find quality Cole Porter songs as there are so many great ones to choose from. Both Rebecca and I thought that “Anything Goes” would be a good addition so I set out to do some twists and turns to this clever little ditty. What classic lyrics!
Rebecca scats a chorus, Tripp scoots along, the rhythm section holds steady, and I get to spin some lines. Good fun with sound.
the group:
Peter Sprague — guitar
Rebecca Jade — vocals
Tripp Sprague — sax
Gunnar Biggs — bass
Duncan Moore — drums
This just in, a former student of mine, Alejandro Fernandez has a YouTube channel covering all things jazz guitar. In a recent edition he explores his top 5 solo jazz guitar albums and what a surprise to me, he includes my “Peter Sprague Plays Solo” album in the list. Alongside Joe Pass, Earl Klugh, Ted Greene, and Jeff Linsky what an honor to be among such six string royalty.
Cool beans…
That’s the story for now and thanks for tuning in…
adios, Peter
