It’s Always Summer on the Inside!

Hi Good Folks, coming to you engulfed by the grey coastal weather loop. But that doesn’t mean that there’s a lack of SUN in our lives over here. It’s always summer on the inside! Rays of warmth in every vowel, consonant, and verb. Heat coming off of every note…

Big time vocal magic last week at The Loft with Alicia Olatuja sharing her music! What a sound, what a groove, and so happy to be in the sphere with her and the killer band. We all hope to do again further down the way, when she can once again break loose from NYC.

Directly after Alicia’s gig, early the next morning, Stef, her Mom Ann, and I braved the TSA Security line and made our way up to Tacoma, Washington to celebrate our daughter Kylie’s elegant launch from college. She blasted out in style with awards and friendship and has her eyes on first this summer, working at a camp in Yosemite followed by a year living as a normal human being, with the grand finale of graduate school in psychology after that. She’s a cool kid!

That's me modeling a brand new Ryan Seacrest shirt (fancy) that a friend gave me. Broke it out for the occasion.

We’re BLURRING tomorrow night at Grossmont College with Tripp, Fred, and I! That’s our group Blurring the Edges and we’ve worked up some new music and are excited to release it into the sky for your and our ears enjoyment. Look below for the details and we hope you can break loose and take it all in…

A collage of guitar necks! Every which way! Blurring the Edges with Peter, Fred and Tripp.

Last up on the list are a series of vids that have descended from the Great Algorithm of the Sky, bringing with them the joy of music and hint of humor. Brazil makes some great musos and they are well represented here. Dig it!

Mestrinho jams Donna Lee really FAST! And his pre-song ritual just floors me. Not sure what he's saying (in Portuguese) but the vibe is stellar!

Also from Brazil, little Analu sings Jobim's "Waters of March". Cute beyond belief and nailing this wordy gem!

Camille is from France but here she sings a Hermeto Pascoal tune that has notes for days. Plus she sings the solo too and it's amazing. Added attraction, Camille acts out (with her hand gestures and facial expressions) what the song is saying.

The Maccabeats & Naturally 7 sing an all vocal version of James Taylor's "Shed a Little Light". Oh, this is beautiful. I LOVE music!

We finish it off with a clip from our Belly Up gig a few weeks back. It's Leonard and I with a special trombone appearance from Paul Nowell. The tune is "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?" and it's a cool moment of music.

There’s the story folks and thanks for coming along for the ride. Big fun!
