Live From SpragueLand Episode 5 Peter Sprague and Allison Adams Tucker
Thursday, July 9, 2020
Encinitas, CA, U.S.A 92024
For this episode it’s a sonic celebration with me and the band highlighting vocalist Allison Adams Tucker. Allison's vocal palette has been colored by her experience in a variety of musical genres throughout her life, from a cappella Elizabethan madrigals to punk rock to country to commercial jingles. Since 2005 she has found the most natural fit to be jazz and world music. She has studied and sings in 6 languages besides her own, lived in Japan and Spain, and has traveled to over 15 countries. She’s a globetrotting muso with a beautiful song to sing!
We first met a bunch of years ago and she gave me her demo tape. I get a lot of these and I listen and it’s all good but maybe not the right fit for various intonation and stylistic reasons. But Alli’s tape caught my ear and prompted me to include her on some of my recording projects. Since then we’ve collaborated on many concerts and we’re thrilled to be together musically right in the thick of it with you and the pandemic. We’ll bring a little warmth through the air to your quarantined home.
The music we’ve chosen for this concert includes some samba, a new to us Beatles classic, Jude Sill’s “The Kiss” (one of the most gorgeous compositions ever!), a world premiere of a new one of mine, Alli playing ukulele, and a reimagined “My Favorite Things."
The band includes some of the best with Allison Adams Tucker on vocals, Tripp Sprague on sax and flute, Justin Grinnell on bass, Duncan Moore on drums, and me on guitar.

We’re looking forward to sharing our music with you!
Price of admission? Actually the concert is free but we will have a “virtual tip jar” complete with my PayPal and Venmo info for you to donate whatever you feel good about. We’d love for this to work out too.
