Hi Folks, we had a fantastic New Year’s Eve gig at Ki’s with great food, a whole slew of solid jazz listeners and Nina and the band stirring it up. Thanks for making it out and it’s a good way to lead into 2014- sauteed tofu jazz aligning to the new year as it appears in Duluth.
I’ve been mixing and editing the video from the recent Christmas Eve concert and by next week I’ll be ready to share some of the cool moments that went down. The warmth and magic of Del Mar never looked and sounded so good! I was able to carve a little solo guitar time out during this vacation season and here you go if you want to check out my new tune “Islas Canarias”. I also wrote the guitar arrangement out and it’s available here. Right after Christmas we had an inspiring session at SpragueLand Studios with Sahara Grim and her band of young gifted musos! I love their vibe and energy and they play up a storm. Great new music energy coming out of Point Loma! Look out! In this month’s Guitar Player Magazine they’ve included an instructional lesson that I put together as part of their Monster Guitar Series. I’m thrilled to be in there with the likes of Frank Gambale, Mick Goodrick and Steve Morse. Check it out: Coming up for live music this week is a special night at the Roxy in Encinitas with young Kate Sprague on vocals along with Dad Tripp and Uncle Pete (me). It’ll be a night of jazz and Kate’s sonic explorations into Jack Johnson, The Beatles, Bruno Mars, and Cole Porter. Big fun and hope to see you there! all the very best, Peter |
