BILLY CHILDS: MAP TO THE TREASURE - REIMAGINING LAURA NYRO WITH SPECIAL GUEST BECCA STEVENS

Billy Childs picked up the piano at age 6 and never looked back. Heavily influenced by Herbie Hancock and mentored by Freddie Hubbard, he has gone on to compose multiple works for orchestras and groups around the country including Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra the Los Angeles Master Chorale, The Kronos Quartet, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the American Brass Quintet, and the Dorian Wind Quintet. Over Childs' career he has amassed 10 Grammy nominations and 3 Grammy awards. His transition from a long-standing collaboration as Chris Botti's music director has led him to his most recent breakthrough in presenting the music of pop iconoclast Laura Nyro.
